When our oldest was born 19 years ago, Andrew envisioned his own restaurant that would feature regional specialties based on seasonal availability. His background as a sous chef, pastry chef, and head chef at the Trellis (for 15 years) gave him the foundation that he needed to accomplish this. However, as we all know, location is everything and the right location was hard to find! When the restaurant known as Jungle Jim’s became available, he knew he had found the perfect spot. The Huntsman’s Grill became reality in February, 2014. He recruited local chef and friend Chet Flanagan (former owner of The Silver Maple in Toano) to head up the kitchen. Featuring homemade soups, creative entrees, and just plain old good food, The Huntsman’s Grill is the fulfillment of a dream for him.
